JAN-FEB 2012: Instructional Figure Drawing Class
Jean will be teaching a figure drawing class at the Shelburne Art Center on Thursdays from January 19 through February 23, 6:00-8:00. APRIL, 2012 Botanical Illustration workshop:
Jean will be teaching a Botanical Illustration workshop at Rhode Island School of Design for the C.E. Department. The workshop is open to all. Some drawing experience helpful but not necessary. "We will take a brief look at botanical illustration through the ages, then concentrate on drawing flowers with detailed instruction and guidance in the drawing and painting process." Jean will show original samples and demonstrate some techniques while allowing students time to produce their own sketches and practice samples on the way to creating a finished botanical illustration. She will draw upon her experience as an illustrator for gardening magazines for many years and her lifelong love for drawing and painting nature, especially botanical subjects.

AWARDS

August 2008: Jean's 16" x 24" color photograph "Sailboat Silhouette" won first prize in the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum's juried photography exhibit "Lake Champlain Through the Lens" in the category of Boats.

Juror's award at Attleboro Center for the Arts (MA) for the photograph, "Garden Kiss"

Photograph "A Boy's Summer" won 2nd prize in Popular Photography and Imaging Magazine Annual International Photography competition by exhibiting in "Sports and Action" Category.
